{"id":404,"date":"2020-08-13T14:07:19","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T14:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cookbook.deamaree.com\/?p=404"},"modified":"2021-07-14T09:25:37","modified_gmt":"2021-07-14T14:25:37","slug":"deas-porcupine-balls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookbook.deamaree.com\/?p=404","title":{"rendered":"Dea&#8217;s Porcupine Balls"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 pound ground beef<\/li><li>1\/2 cup uncooked rice<\/li><li>1\/4 cup <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cookbook.deamaree.com\/2020\/08\/08\/onions-fresh-and-reconstituted\/\" target=\"_blank\">onion<\/a>, minced<\/li><li>1 tsp salt<\/li><li>1\/8 tsp garlic powder<\/li><li>1\/2 tsp seasoned salt<\/li><li>1\/8 tsp pepper<\/li><li>1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup, divided<\/li><li>1 15 oz can tomato sauce<\/li><li>1 Tbsp Parmesan cheese<\/li><li>1\/2 cup milk<\/li><li>2 cups prepared rice (or to taste)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mix tomato sauce, all but 1\/4 cup soup, milk and Parmesan in saucepan. Heat over medium-low to medium while you prepare meatballs.<\/li><li>Mix the ground beef, dry rice, reserved 1\/4 cup of soup, onion, salt, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper in large bowl.<\/li><li>Shape the mixture by 2 Tbsp scoops* into 14 to 16 meatballs.<\/li><li>Heat 1 Tbsp canola oil in a large skillet and cook the meatballs over medium heat until brown on all sides; remove from skillet and drain (if necessary).<\/li><li>Drop browned meatballs into sauce. Heat to boiling.
